Mr. Keelan has a technical background in Mechanical Engineering, and some Civil Engineering, and is retired from the Detroit Diesel Corporation where he worked mainly on advanced research projects, many of which involved special materials and thermal dynamics for advanced diesel engine developments.  Many of these projects were with government research facilities and universities within the United States. 

Mr. Keelan is also an owner/operator of a small Christmas tree farm (Michael’s Tree Farm) in Howell, Michigan and is a member of the Michigan Christmas Tree Association, and the Howell Farmers Club.  Mr. Keelan has been a resident in Livingston County for 27 years and a resident on Earl Lake (park side) for ten years.
